Tommy Knockers Cabin-scenery view

Miners shack, worker housing, or

used as small residential structure, these small multi-use structures were found in towns all across the country.

History:

Tommy Knockers Cabin-interior view-wild west scale models

Interior view:

Floor boards, full roof trusses, one-piece removable roof!

This model was designed as a freelance cabin with the side gable dropped from the main roof line to add character.

This structure’s name, Tommy Knockers, was named for the “ghosts” of the mines that would warn living miners of the chance of cave-ins by knocking on the mine walls.

If you have never been deep in a mine, the sounds of creaking timbers and deep rumbles of the shifting earth are very ominous!

The Tommyknockers name has many other interpretations, meanings, and has evolved over time. Click this link to go to a site we have found that offers a fun history of Tommyknockers!
